That word to name the one who gives us life or accompanies us in it.
Derived from the Latin mamma , alluding to the breast that feeds the baby when it is born.
It is incorporated into Spanish to name mom, because of the babbling we do when we are babies, to ask for food.
Mother ,
that figure associated with Nutrition, Care, Containment, Security , Love , Home ...
the most fundamental role in our vital development.
Mother,
Another way to name the one who, from being Woman, from the Latin Mater and Matris , transforms into the Woman who has given birth or given life.
The root of everything.
Mother
That woman who lends us her body to develop and come into this world, who, through love, excitement, or rape, is transformed into something that society and we as humanity begin to demand and expect.
Mother
Who brings us into this world
Mom
She who chooses to accompany us in our life's development with her whole being,
Whether sufficient or not, he is the one who, directly and indirectly, has brought us here.
She, without knowing how to do it, much less how to deal with her life and our existence for the rest of her life.
She chose us, without even knowing us...
For moral reasons?
For consolation?
Because of a social construct?
For love?
Out of conviction and personal project?
For ideological reasons?
By obligation?
Out of need or emotional emptiness?
Mom
She who gives us her life to accompany us in ours, despite all the pressure that exists behind this small 4-letter word.
Mother
She is the one who gives us life, yet the one we judge and criticize the most is Mom .
To her who chooses to stay but does not meet the expectations or our needs to transform us into socially adapted adults in this system created by other humans.
Today's woman chooses to be a mother without forgetting to be a woman... and she is criticized for it too.
Because motherhood is the most thankless role we can experience in this society.
Ancient psychology speaks of the importance of this breast in our psychic development
Neurology speaks of the importance of this breast in our physical and neuronal development
Society speaks of the importance of this breast in our ability to socialize with other humans.
However, no one tells us about that woman who stopped being herself to become that breast that HAS to feed, care for , protect , and sustain another being for the rest of her life. Not even she speaks of herself, because of the incredible guilt she must feel.
Today is Mom 's Day, and I write this to honor every woman who has chosen to stop being herself to become a Breast forced to care for, nurture, and love.
Because if you don't, society and the law will judge you.
I honor you as a woman
I honor that strength of giving up yourself to give space in your body and being to another.
that you don't know, but you have to love.
I honor you for trying to care for, nurture, protect , and sustain a being who depends so much on you;
and at the same time, to care for , nourish , protect and support yourself.
Because many times the man who helped you in this transformation isn't even there for you.
I honor you even though you don't do it with such dedication,
I honor you even though you make mistakes every day,
I honor you even though you lack many qualities that we need to develop as "healthy" human beings.
I honor your body
that which became the nest of our body and spirit for more than 6 months.
I honor your strength to do what you do every day.
Well, your love and dedication will never be repaid... in fact, what you will receive most is criticism, judgment, and ingratitude.
Because as children, we don't always recognize everything you did to get us to where we are today.
However, everything you mean in our existence deserves more than just one day to honor you.
It deserves awareness
It deserves recognition.
He deserves respect,
even if you have committed the greatest atrocities you could possibly commit.
I see you,
I see your pain,
I see your happiness,
I see your emptiness
I see your being
I see your dedication
I see your sacrifice
Even though it hurts my little girl not to have received that breast,
My adult self is capable of recognizing that nothing you did, do, or will do,
It has been an obligation and that makes me eternally grateful.
I can see you woman to woman
And acknowledge that everything you have done
It has transformed me into who I am
And I appreciate your sacrifice in bringing me here.
Well, motherhood is the most sacred profession of all.
However, it is time to
to abandon sacrifice as a loss of yourself.
May your motherhood continue to be the most sacred thing in life
That we as humans become aware of this
and as women,
if we really don't have the conditions we need
To enjoy giving our lives to another. May we continue to be women.
Happy day to all the women who have brought life into the world.
Happy day to all the women who sacrificed themselves to become mothers
Happy day to all the women who gave birth to life.
Happy day to all those who practice the most sacred profession of all
Happy Mom's Day
to you, Mom,
who chose to be a mother!
without even knowing me
❤️🙏✨️
